A lesson a day

  • The children have a series of daily Reading Recovery lessons, for about two terms.

  • Every child works with the teacher in a separate room for 30 minutes each day.

  • It is important that they don’t miss lessons.

What is Every Child a Reader Programme?

  • Every child a Reader Programme helps children in Year 2 who are not finding it easy to learn to read and write.

  • Our school has arranged for a teacher to have special training to work with children needing extra help.

  • The children have an individual lesson with that teacher every day, so that they learn very quickly and soon become   much better readers.

Reading Recovery at Bankside

IMG_0077Hi, my name is Mrs Klonowski and I have been working in Bankside Primary School as a Reading Recovery Teacher for a number of years. In this blog I will tell you how we help the children in our school to become fantastic readers even if they find it difficult to learn to read. I will also try to help you to help  your child to  become an even better reader. I will try to find lots of useful links with advice on learning to read and activities for the children to complete so they can develop their reading skills further. I am looking forward to hearing from you too. If you have any questions you want to ask about learning to read then please don’t hesitate to ask!
